A Workshop on
the “development of exams from the administrational ,
technological training and supplies sides, took place in the
press of the Educational Center for Research and
Development in Sin El Fil, in cooperation between the
Education development project supported by a loan from the
international bank, the educational public administration
and the Educational center for research and development.
The general director of Education, Georges Nehme, and
the president of the center of pedagogy, Dr. Leila Fayad,
assisted in the opening with a number of specialists in the
center and chiefs of departments of the subjects and other
interested people. |

After the national anthem, Nehme
talked about the importance of the exams and about their
role, considering that “the exams are as important as
education including the teacher and the school” because the
work of the last ones is evaluated by the first.
Then Kabbara made his speech
where he listed the consulting foundations that are
cooperating to attain the target of the project; he also
mentioned that the purpose of the meeting in the workshop is
to launch the work in the development of the exams and to
reduce the obstacles that may arise in the development, as
well as making the control on the outputs possible. He also
declared that “All the members of the educational family
unit are cooperating in this operation because it’s
considered as a mirror of the educational system.
Afterwards, the responsible for the
education and exams in the project of the education
progress, Dr. Nada Mneimneh, talked about the duty of
the companies, starting from the registration of the student
for the exams up until when they obtain the results. She
also spoke about the fake number given during the correction
and the real one in the results, signaling that “the
automatisation (mechanization) unit in the center of
education is in charge of giving the results, and that it is
required from the companies to specify programming
qualifications for all the administrational and logistical
problems that are related to the exams, to put a program for
the bank of questions and training, and to follow up the
execution. She hoped this can be achieved in 1.5 years so
that the department of exams will be able to do its job in
the best way.
Then the manager of the German company
“BERG”, Ulrich Berg, stated that “We are living in
the age of globalization and usage of Media. Therefore,
countries are taking advantage of the technology to step
forward in all fields, by increasing the gain from
information, which is for the service of the individual.
In this educational pathway, the exams
play an important role and are considered as a station that
explains the contents of the programs and what a student has
learned at school, and it illustrates his results and his
sufficiency in a statistical program, therefore, not only
success of the student is revealed through the exams, but
also the way of work and the production of the teacher and
of the school. Consequently, the exams should be fair,
honest and transparent, and a student should know in what he
is tested and how do we get the answers.”
Subsequently, the general manager of
IntelliSoft Lebanon Company, Hashem Hashem, spoke in
the name of the working companies considering that the
achievement of this workshop means a clear common
forethought of how the modern system for the official exams
in Lebanon should be. |
